A Fond Farewell: Retirement Announcement for Carey Gresham, AEC Plans Examiner

Dominion Due Diligence (D3G) announced on Monday, March 6th, that Carey Gresham will retire as of Friday, March 10th, 2023.

Below is a message provided by Rob Hazelton, CEO of D3G:

Carey has been instrumental in the growth of the D3G we know today.

Carey was hired in 1999 as our subject matter expert (SME) on multifamily building codes.  His service with the US Army (82nd Airborne) and former experience with the City of Richmond Building Code Department provided a steady and pragmatic voice during the early years of D3G.

At the outset of the HUD Multifamily Accelerated Process (MAP) in 2000, Carey’s advanced knowledge of building systems positioned D3G to be the first due diligence firm to offer Project Capital Needs Assessments (PCNAs) for Section 223(f) loans and Section 221(d4) Architectural and Engineering plan reviews.

Over 20 years later, that initiative has helped D3G expand from a small regional consultant into a nationwide real estate due diligence provider for some of the largest lenders and municipalities in the nation.

Today we provide consulting services that house over 1 million Americans annually – a powerful legacy that Carey shares. Carey’s leadership qualities and work ethic resonate daily in our office and will be sorely missed, but the lasting legacy he created with his dedication, kind words, and ethos will always remain.
