5 Things to Know About How D3G Is Streamlining the CNA Process

D3G is streamlining the Capital Needs Assessment process by expanding team capacity, enhancing workflows, and investing in proprietary tools that improve efficiency from field inspection through final report delivery. Learn how these efforts support faster turnaround times, reliable reporting, and long-term capital planning.

1. Growing Capacity with Additional Needs Assessors

To support increasing demand, D3G is preparing to add additional Needs Assessors. Expanding our team helps us build capacity while maintaining the quality, consistency, and attention to detail clients expect from our CNA process.

This reflects the foundation of D3G’s approach to Capital Needs Assessments. Strong fieldwork, experienced professionals, and reliable reporting all play an important role in helping clients plan for long-term capital needs, preservation, and compliance.

2. Strengthening Reporting Through D3G-Built Tools

D3G’s CNA process is supported by proprietary tools designed to improve efficiency from field inspection through final report delivery.

Kensa, D3G’s in-house inspect app, allows Needs Assessors to capture photos, notes, and inspection data on site. Inspection data captured with Kensa is easily transferred into Versa, D3G’s in-house CNA report writing tool, where teams organize property details, document repairs and reserve items, and generate key reporting outputs. Versa utilizes API communication to easily transfer data into the associated CNA narratives, which are completed in the PARCEL platform. In addition, Versa can transfer data via API to populate HUD’s CNA e-Tool, when applicable.

Together, these tools help create a more connected workflow that improves consistency, reduces duplicate effort, and supports reliable reporting.

3. Supporting Growth While Preserving Quality

D3G’s in-house team remains the foundation of our inspection and reporting work. To complement that capacity, we have also strengthened our network of Independent Contractors who provide supplemental inspection support when needed. This added flexibility helps us respond to project volume, expand geographic coverage, and keep assignments moving efficiently across regions.

With this approach, D3G is well-positioned to support clients nationwide while maintaining the consistency, oversight, and high-quality service that define our CNA work.

4. Aligning Resources and Technology to Improve Efficiency

Improving turnaround time is not only about adding people. It is also about aligning the right resources at the right stage of the process. D3G continues to evaluate how staff, internal support, and technology can be leveraged to improve workflow, reduce bottlenecks, and support production more effectively.

That includes finding thoughtful ways to leverage AI and other internal efficiencies to support report writing, organization, and process management. These efforts help our team spend more time focused on analysis, accuracy, and deliverable quality.

5. Creating a More Seamless Process from Data Collection to Delivery

A major focus for our team is improving the full CNA workflow, so information moves more seamlessly from inspection through final delivery. That process includes field data collection, structured report writing, narrative development, financial reporting, and final platform compatibility.

As reporting demands evolve, D3G continues to invest in the people, processes, and tools that support a more efficient CNA workflow. That commitment helps us deliver the responsive service, technical expertise, and reliable reporting clients need to keep projects moving. Explore D3G’s Capital Needs Assessment services to see how our team supports reliable reporting and long-term planning.
